Nicki Minaj has denied "slamming" her 'Monster' collaborator Kanye West in a new magazine interview in which she quoted a line from his 2005 song 'Gold Digger'.
Speaking to Marie Claire about racial injustice, Minaj is quoted as saying: "I'm so tired of black women feeling that when our men get rich, they're going to leave them for a woman of a different race."
She continued: "It wasn't funny when Kanye said [in 'Gold Digger'], 'When he get on, he'll leave your ass for a white girl' – and Kanye happens to be with a white girl now. It wasn't funny when he said it; it was the fucking truth."
Quoting a web article which implied she was "slamming" West with these comments, Minaj wrote on Twitter today earlier (October 17): ""Slams" a man/genius who gave me one of the biggest looks of my career? I said he wasn't kidding, he was speaking the TRUTH about d industry."
"I was saying he's the one who said it first. He doesn't apologize for his choices. He tells the truth about stuff ppl don't wanna hear!" Minaj added in a follow-up tweet.
