With many movie theaters throughout the United States still closed, Disney has done some major reshuffling of its film release calendar. Included among the moving titles is Black Widow, the next Marvel Cinematic Universe movie set to release in theaters. Instead of arriving in theaters on November 6, its new date is May 7, 2021, according to Deadline. It’s interesting to note that the original Black Widow release date was for May of this year, leaving it delayed at least a year–provided it ends up sticking with the May 2021 date. This also marks the first year since 2009 that there are no MCU movies in theaters, though WandaVision will premiere on Disney+.

With that delay comes several MCU projects moving to later release dates. Eternals, which was going to be in theaters on February 12, 2021, is now set to debut on November 5, 2021. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, which originally occupied the new Black Widow release date, will premiere on July 9, 2021. This also means that Eternals, which was originally set for theaters before Shang-Chi, will now arrive after it. So here is what to expect for the next few MCU releases:

  • Black Widow on May 7, 2021
  • Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings on July 9, 2021
  • Eternals on November 5, 2021

Outside of the MCU, Disney has shifted a bunch of other release dates, as well. The King’s Man, a prequel to Kingsman: The Secret Service, will now release on February 12, 2021. Death on the Nile, originally set for October 23, is not set to hit theaters on December 18. The upcoming West Side Story remake from Steven Spielberg is facing the biggest delay. Originally slated for December 18 of this year, it’s shifting to December 10, 2021. Lastly, the adaptation of the Patricia Highsmith novel Deep Water moves from November 13 of this year to August 13, 2021.

Even with all of these titles moving around, Disney is sticking with the planned November 20 release date for the Pixar movie Soul.
