Controlling killer Gray Atkins (Toby Alexander-Smith) has set his sights on Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty), months after killing his abused wife, and mother to his children, Chantelle in EastEnders.

He recently also murdered Tina Carter after she discovered his true and dark nature but, seeing Gray as the saviour who helped her against Leo and kept her out of prison, Whitney has been determined to be there for him.

As Whitney is good with the children, Gray’s fondness for her has grown and he took her on as a nanny, pushing Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) out in the process.

And when he heard that she had a date, his jealousy grew and he manipulated her with mind games, persuading her to stay and share several bottles of wine with him.

In recent scenes, he was envious to see her chatting to Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami) and sharing a laugh and he could sense the chemistry between them.

When Whitney arrived home, Gray presented her with more wine, which she rejected – but he was pushy and gave a toast to her, leaving her feeling as if she had to oblige.

He then stunned her by presenting her with flowers and telling him they would be perfect together – and she should move in!

Shocked by this sudden turn of events, Whitney told an unbalanced Gray that he wasn’t thinking straight and she walked out, leaving him seething not to get his own way.

Believing her heart lies with Kush, will a desperate and evil Gray target him so he can get what he thinks he is entitled to in his narcissistic mind?

Is he set to kill again?
