Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) asked Ben Tucker (Simon Lennon) out of a date in Emmerdale tonight (September 24).
Upon coming face-to-face with Aaron in Tuesday’s episode (September 22), Ben reminded him that they already know one another.
It didn’t take the mechanic long to put two and two together, and he soon discovered that the newcomer was the same Ben Tucker he used to bully at school.
Aaron was horrified, and wasted little time in attempting to put things right, as he offered to help Ben with his car trouble.
In tonight’s double-bill, Aaron discovered that the car part required in order to finish the job would need to be ordered in, and therefore he and Ben headed to The Woolpack for a drink.
Ben explained how Aaron’s actions in school left him in fear of his life — noting one particular incident when things got scary for him.
Aaron apologised profusely — revealing that he was going through a lot back in those days, and that he was scared of Ben for being able to be confident in who he is.
As they discussed matters further, the ice continued to thaw, and Ben seemingly accepted Aaron’s apologies.
Aaron later popped by The Hide to pick up an order, but he came face-to-face with Ben once more.
Having put two and two together, Ben smirked and informed the mechanic to just get on with it and ask him out, and honestly, we can’t help but love him already.
Aaron smiled at the prospect, and therefore — in an effort to take things slow — they arranged a kayak session.
Could this be the beginning of something special?
