Preheat your ovens, because the new series of the Great British Bake Off starts tonight.

Fans were worried the coronavirus pandemic may cause disruptions to the Channel 4 baking show, as it had done to many of our other favourite shows such as Line of Duty.

However, the dedicated GBBO team did all they could to bring us another series of show stoppers and soggy bottoms.

Here’s all you need to know ahead of tonight’s show.

What time does the Great British Bake Off start?

The Great British Bake Off kicks off tonight (September 22) at the slightly later time of 8:05pm.

This week’s show has been pushed back slightly to make way for Boris Johnson’s televised address to the nation.

The show will return every week at 8pm.

Each episode will be an hour and a half long, ending at 9.30pm.

What channel is the Great British Bake Off on?

The Great British Bake Off will air on Channel 4.

The baking show switched to Channel 4 in 2017, after airing on BBC for seven years.

Previous judge Mary Berry and presenters Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc, did not continue at the show after its switch.

Who are the hosts and judges of the Great British Bake Off?

Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith are back again as GBBO judges.

Noel Fielding will return as a co-host, but Sandi Toksvig will not be joining him.

Instead, comedy actor Matt Lucas will be co-hosting alongside Noel.

Funny man Matt Lucas is known for writing and starring in Little Britain and Come Fly With Me with Britain’s Got Talent judge David Walliams.

Who are the Great British Bake Off contestants?

When was the Great British Bake Off filmed?

Many of our favourite TV shows were disrupted by the coronavirus pandemic.

However, after some delays, the Great British Bake Off was able to get back to filming and finished at the end of August.

In order to film the show, the cast and crew had to form a social bubble together, with strict regulations in place regarding testing and quarantine.

The Great British Bake Off begins on Channel 4 on Tuesday, September 22, at 8.00pm.
