Harry Styles has officially entered the MCU, after reports back in September that he had been cast for a film. However, after the Hollywood screening of the Eternals, the cat is out of the bag.

Warning: This post contains potential spoilers for upcoming Marvel movies–if that’s a thing you take seriously, please head to literally anywhere else on the internet instead of continuing to read.

Okay, still with us? According to reports from the recent Eternals premiere, pop star and actor Harry Styles has a cameo in one of the film’s after-credits scenes. The singer will play Eros (also known as Starfox), an Eternal and the brother of Thanos. This role marks the actor’s second major role following Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk, and comes ahead of his role in Olivia Wilde’s Don’t Worry Baby, which is expected to release in 2022.

As the name Eros suggests, Styles’s character is reminiscent of the Greek god of love. Created by Jim Starlin and Mike Friedrich in 1973, the character has incredible strength and is also bestowed with the ability to manipulate people’s emotions–a superpower he sometimes abuses.

Eternals tells the story of immortal beings who have observed and built civilizations across the universe. It stars Angelina Jolie, Gemma Chan, Kumail Nanjiani, Richard Madden, Lia McHugh, Barry Keoghan, Lauren Ridloff, Ma Dong-seok, Brian Tyree Henry, Salma Hayek, and Kit Harrington. The film is directed and co-written by Acadamy Award winner Chloé Zhao.

Eternals premieres in theaters on November 5, 2021. If spoilers don’t scare you, this news is just the first of many things from the movie that have already started to leak.
