Ivory Aquino Joins Hbo Maxs Batgirl

Ivory Aquino (“When We Rise”) has scored the role of Alysia Yeoh in the upcoming “Batgirl” film at HBO Max, Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Films.

Yeoh is the best friend of Barbara Gordon/Batgirl, the masked hero played by Leslie Grace. Aquino, who is transgender, is playing the first openly trans character in a live-action DC movie.

The film also stars Brendan Fraser as the villain, Michael Keaton as Batman, and J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Jim Gordon.

“Bad Boys for Life” filmmakers Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are directing from a script by Christina Hodson (“The Flash,” “Birds of Prey”). Production is currently underway in the U.K. and you can check out a short video from the set below.
