Jurassic World Dominion Delayed A Year

Continuing this week’s rush of major film delays, Universal Pictures announced on Tuesday that it is pushing back the release of “Jurassic World: Dominion” by a full year. Originally slated to arrive June next year, the film will now hit June 10th 2022.

Filming on the third entry in the current series and sixth overall in the dinosaur franchise is nearing completion in England. The COVID-19 pandemic forced shooting to pause for several months.

Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard team up with original “Jurassic Park”trio Laura Dern, Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum in the new film which joins other features seeing significant delays including “Dune” (10 months), “No Time to Die” (5 months), “The Batman” (5 months) and “Shazam 2” (7 months) among others.

Despite the delays, all reports indicate shooting timetables haven’t changed – the moves just giving each production plenty of breathing room and to better prepare the films for release.
