Miyazaki’s “Conan” Series Sets Disc Release

Nippon Animation

GKIDS has announced a November 16th Blu-ray release of legendary filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki’s 1978 directorial debut – “Future Boy Conan: The Complete Series”.

The series is set twenty years after a terrible war fought with magnetic weapons destroyed civilization. Conan is born into this new world, raised by his grandfather on an isolated island.

His life is forever changed when a mysterious girl named Lana washes ashore, pursued by shadowy operatives who seek to use her in a new scheme to control what’s left of the world.

The series has never officially been released in North America until now with the four-disc collection featuring a 4K restoration of all 26 episodes as well as a new English language dub for the first time.

Miyazaki of course went on to found Studio Ghibli and direct classics such as “Spirited Away” and “Princess Mononoke”.
