New Halo Infinite XP System: How To Level Up Faster Than Ever

343’s newest change to the Halo Infinite battle pass XP system once again makes it more user-friendly and faster to climb, signaling that the developer is still listening to fan feedback and adapting. Following an earlier change that made daily XP gains come at a pace of 50 XP per match every single time, the new changes greatly increased those gains. With that in mind, here’s the newest and best way to level up the Halo Infinite battle pass.

The new Halo XP gains are front-loaded for players who are logging on for the first time each day, and are meant to encourage you to return to play daily. As laid out by Halo community manager John Junyszek, the team’s latest fix rewards large amounts of XP for the first six matches of every day, broken down as follows:

  • 1st Game=300 XP
  • 2nd Game=200 XP
  • 3rd Game=200 XP
  • 4th Game=100 XP
  • 5th Game=100 XP
  • 6th Game=100 XP

For every game you play after the initial half-dozen in a single day, you’ll receive 50 XP, which before this update was the comparatively measly rate for any dailygames played. As you can see, the gains are drastically improved, even as 343 says more changes to the progression system are on the way. The team noted that this was one it was able to make swiftly.

How to level up in Halo even faster

While these gains are much more enticing than we’ve seen previously, they can be enhanced even further with XP boosts. You may already have XP boosts in your inventory–you can check in the Boosts section of the Challenges menu–and each boost grants you one hour of double XP that applies to all challenges completed while it’s active. If you don’t have any XP boosts at the moment, you can unlock more by earning higher tiers in the battle pass, or by purchasing them as consumables in the game’s real-money store, often coming bundled with challenge swaps.

With Halo'S Improved Challenge System, Your First Six Games Every Day Provide An Xp Windfall.
With Halo’s improved challenge system, your first six games every day provide an XP windfall.

Without XP boosts, and even without completing any other challenges, playing your first six games per day under this new system will net you 1,000 XP, which is precisely enough to level up in the battle pass once. Naturally, that means applying enough boosts for your first six games of the day–completing them all will take roughly two hours and thus two boosts–guarantees you’ll level up twice per day in Halo Infinite, so long as you play at least six games.

This doesn’t even account for other challenges you’re likely to complete in that span each day, such as those that don’t specify a PvP requirement and which can be completed more easily against bots. All of this means you’ll probably find yourself leveling up even faster than this.

We’re as eager as you are to see further improvements made to the Halo Infinite battle pass system over time, but suffice it to say, this is a great fix in the meantime. See you in the arena, Spartan, at least for six matches or so.
