Sony has announced a September 9th date for its annual PlayStation Showcase event which will feature the biggest titles from PlayStation Studios and other developers.
No new PSVR details are expected but PS5 titles big and small coming this Holiday and next year are expected to be showcased. The hope is both “God of War: Ragnarok” and Naughty Dog’s secret new multiplayer title will be shown.
The 40-minute main broadcast will be streamed live on various PlayStation YouTube and Twitch channels from 1pm US-PDT. After show deeper dive broadcasts are also expected.
The news comes as Sony has been hit by a bit of a backlash after revealing that the highly anticipated “Horizon: Forbidden West” will NOT have a cross-gen upgrade path for those hoping to buy the PS4 version first and then get a PS5 upgrade either for free or $10 more.
Instead, you either have to buy the $60 PS4 or $70 PS5 only versions, or buy any of the more costly collector’s editions, like the $80 Digital Deluxe Edition, which contain both the PS4 and PS5 versions and other extras. You will be able to transfer your save data from the PS4 to PS5 versions of the game though.
