The Premier League has been home to some legendary goalkeepers over the years – but who is the best of the current crop?

Manchester City’s Ederson may have won the Golden Glove award for the most clean sheets in 2019-20, but Arsenal and Tottenham goalkeepers managed to outperform the Brazil international.

We’ve looked at which goalkeepers recorded the highest save percentage in the Premier League in 2019-20. Note: We’ve only included players who made five or more league appearances.

1. Emiliano Martinez – 81%

2. Hugo Lloris – 79.6%

3. Bernd Leno – 77.6%

4. Dean Henderson – 75.2%

5. Kasper Schmeichel – 73.8%

6. David de Gea – 73.6%

7. Ederson – 72.8%

8. Alisson – 72.2%

9. Vicente Guaita – 71.4%

10. Nick Pope – 71.1%

11. Paulo Gazzaniga – 70.9%

12. Martin Dubravka – 70.5%

13. David Martin – 70%

14. Alex McCarthy – 69.1%

15. Roberto – 68.6%

16. Lukasz Fabianski – 68.4%

17. Mathew Ryan – 68.3%

18. Aaron Ramsdale – 67.8%

19. Tom Heaton – 67.7%

20. Rui Patricio – 67.5%

21. Ben Foster – 66.3%

22. Tim Krul – 65.6%

23. Adrian – 64.3%

24. Pepe Reina – 64%

25. Jordan Pickford – 63.4%

26. Angus Gunn – 56.6%

27. Willy Caballero – 56.3%

28. Kepa Arrizabalaga – 54.5%

29. Orjan Nyland – 53.8%

Arsenal have an excellent range of options in the goalkeeping department, with Leno and Martinez both in the top three.

De Gea has come under pressure after some poor performances for Manchester United in 2019-20, but the Spain international recorded a better save percentage than Ederson and Liverpool’s Alisson.

Dean Henderson will be hoping to replace De Gea at Old Trafford and the 23-year-old had a brilliant season while on loan at Sheffield United.

Chelsea are reportedly targeting a new goalkeeper and it’s not hard to see why. Aston Villa’s Orjan Nyland is the only player to record a lower save percentage than Chelsea’s first and second choice goalkeepers.
