Stadler Rail wins 2 bln Sfr order from SBB

BERLIN, Oct 5 (Reuters) – Swiss train manufacturer Stadler Rail won a contract to deliver trains worth 2 billion Swiss francs ($2.16 billion) to Switzerland’s national railway group SBB, SBB said on Tuesday.

Stadler had been competing for the order to supply 286 new single-decker regional trains against rivals Alstom and Siemens, SBB said in a statement, adding that the first trains are expected to enter operation from December 2025.
