Thurber Directs “Dungeons & Dragons” Series

“Red Notice” and “Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story” director Rawson Marshall Thurber will pen and direct the pilot script for Entertainment One’s live-action TV series based on Hasbro’s fantasy role-playing game property “Dungeons & Dragons”.

Thurber will also executive produce and creatively oversee the hourlong series, which is based on the popular fantasy role-playing game franchise published by Wizards of the Coast, a subsidiary of Hasbro.

The series is expected to serve as the cornerstone of a whole D&D TV universe boasting both scripted and unscripted shows.

eOne and Paramount recently finished production on an untitled “Dungeons & Dragons” feature film starring Chris Pine, Rege-Jean Page, Michelle Rodriguez, Hugh Grant, Sophia Lillis and Justice Smith. That film is due out in 2023.
