The Essex Serpent
Apple TV+ has set a May 13th premiere date for Clio Barnard’s six-episode limited series “The Essex Serpent” starring Claire Danes and Tom Hiddleston. The first two episodes will launch on that date with the rest released weekly after.
Based on Sarah Perry’s bestselling novel, the story follows London widow Cora Seaborne (Danes) who moves to Essex to investigate reports of a mythical serpent. She forms an unlikely bond with the village vicar (Hiddleston), but when tragedy strikes, locals accuse her of attracting the creature. Frank Dillane, Clemence Poésy and Hayley Squires co-star. Nida Khurshid (“Station 19”) and newcomer Jojo Fleites are the first to be cast in The CW’s “Supernatural” prequel spin-off series “The Winchesters”. Both play fellow hunters in the series that Jensen Ackles and Danneel Ackles executive produce.
