However, it should be noted that although the basic concepts of structure and shape remain the same the instruments are quite different. The application of the brush is quite different than the pencil, because it is more supple and then, more difficult to control.

Necessities to master watercolor painting!

To really get a grass on watercolor painting the painter must have a clear idea of certain aspects, which could be laid down as follows:

1. Blending colors: The primary focus should be brought upon the knowledge of blending colors, which the painter has to put to life in his work. Without the painter gets a clear conception of the colors interdependency, he would have lots of hindrances in quick progress; of course it would be much simpler if the person had the concept of color theories. For example, a novice would sit idle, if he failed to find the green color to paint, but a little experienced person would simply combine yellow and blue to get the shade of green required.

2. Brush strokes: The usage of brush is also important; the tip of the brush is not as steady as that of the pencil, for which we would have to keep our wrists as steady as possible. This would allow us to get rid of wavered in strokes and obtain firm deft strokes in watercolor painting. It is not easy and takes a lot of practice to master the art of brush strokes in watercolor painting, and even obtaining a proper curve with one single stroke becomes a challenge.

3. Water dilution: Once we got the idea of the basic, but mandatory, necessities of watercolor painting, we can simply proceed further and prepare ourselves for the final step. Finally, we must develop an idea, of dilution of the paint with water, to get a desired effect in our watercolor painting. If we dilute the paint to greater amount the resulting effect would be a dull watercolor painting, with little life in it.

Furthermore, watercolor painting is more popular with children, because it is very easy to remove the watercolor from their hands and cloth. Watercolors as the name suggests are easily diluted in water and do not cause many hassles in removal, even from the paint brushes. On the other hand, this property of watercolor is very disturbing, as it renders the watercolor painting open to water damage at any time.

Thus, watercolor paintings are kept with great caution, unfortunately in places where there would be minimal chances of water damage. Watercolor painting is easy to learn and even easier to practice, as the materials are readily available in the market at cheaper rates than the ones used for oil painting or acrylic painting.
