Dating during lockdown isn’t easy when you can’t go out to meet people.
But one woman decided to try chatting to a guy she liked – without leaving her living room or picking up her phone.
Spotting one of her neighbours, she made signs and stuck them to her window to get his attention.
The man wrote back – but sadly he wasn’t interested in a date.
She posted a video explaining the situation on her TikTok @a129593a, starting with some clips showing how she spotted him on his balcony, where he also keeps his bike.
Grabbing a notepad and some paper, she drew out letters large enough so he would see and put them together to create a message.
The message said: ‘@the man with the bike on the balcony, r u single?’
He wrote back and told her that he was but he was planning to move in a few months.
He added: ‘Stay romantic’ at the bottom of his signs.
Although disappointed, the woman replied with a broken heart picture and said: ‘Worth a try. Just in case’ and added her phone number so they could communicate better.
She revealed that he did text her but she decided to keep their conversation private, blurring out most of the message.
The only bit she shared with her followers said: ‘Hi I’m Alex, your neighbour from across the gardens.’
Sadly she hasn’t posted any further updates but maybe they’ve hit it off after all.
The video has been watched over 220,000 times and the comments are split between her being creepy and cute.
One person said: ‘I’d be terrified if any neighbours did this to me.’
But another said: ‘Awwwwwww I need to know what happened next.’
