Though other meal delivery services may work with chefs to prep all of the pre-made meals in their roster, CookUnity is the first chef-to-consumer subscription services that has partnered with culinary innovators and Michelin-starred chefs from across New York City to help you serve up restaurant-quality food at home. Depending on what you choose, you might end up saving more money than you’d spend on a typical Seamless night. Currently the service caters to a market that’s centered in the Northeast, but continues to expand its reach into the South and as far west as Illinois.
With over 37 chefs to choose from, you can either select specialty dishes from some of your favorites, or filter meals according to your dietary needs (currently the service allows you to choose from keto, gluten-free, vegan, and paleo selections). Try Wild Mushroom Bibimbap from chef Esther Choi or Vegan Penne alla Vodka from chef Emily Peck all in the same week. Customizable subscription options allow you to choose from anywhere between four to 12 meals per week, and preview menus two weeks in advance. The best part is, each meal comes cooked and ready to serve (so all you have to do is reheat and plate it).
Cost: Prices starts at $11 per meal and fluctuates depending on your subscription plan.
Availability: CookUnity currently ships to most of the Northeast, including the New York state area, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Boston, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C., Connecticut. They also ship as far west as Illinois and as far south as Georgia.
