In the world today, who does not want to be king? Everybody does. And thanks to the end of monarchy in India a long time ago, the next best thing is to be everyone's boss. But that does not happen if you do not have the right degree. And that's what BBA and MBA are all about.

BBA or the Bachelor of Business Administration is a course for those who wish to carve a niche for themselves in the sphere of management and business. A BBA course is also alternatively known as Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA), Bachelor of Management and Organizational and Management Studies (BMOS) and Bachelor in Management Studies (BMS). It is typically a four year course, which leads to a Bachelor's degree, and makes one eligible for an MBA course. The course includes topics such as accounting, business law, management information systems, marketing and strategic management. There is also an opportunity for one to specialize in a field of interest, and the topics that one may choose from include real estate, legal studies, international business, supply chain management, and entrepreneurship. Some colleges in India that offer a BBA course are the Indian Institute of Planning and Management (IIPM), the Asia-Pacific Institute of Management, and the Institute of Advanced Management and Research.

The next step is the MBA (Master of Business Administration), which is not only available to those with a BBA degree but also to those who have a Bachelor's degree in engineering, pure sciences, commerce and arts. Also, one may take this course up on correspondence basis, which opens opportunities for those who can not trudge to and from college every day. MBA programs typically have a span of one or two years, wherein students study a variety of subjects in the first half, and during the second half, they specialize in their field of interest, which may include accounting, economics, entrepreneurship, operations management, project management, and real estate. Most B-schools, in the country or abroad, usually ask for work experience, and sometimes, is a necessary requirement. Once a person has an MBA degree in hand, the opportunities available to him increase manifold as compared to the time when he was not an MBA graduate. Some of the best colleges in India that offer an MBA program are the Indian Institutes of Management located at Delhi / NCR Ghaziabad Noida Gurgoan Meerut Lucknow Bangalore Greater Noida Patna Agra Pune Mumbai Punjab Kolkata Chandigarh.
