Amazon Cancels “Utopia” After A Season

Amazon has canceled the sci-fi drama “Utopia” after a single season, the axe swinging approximately two months after it launched.

The story followed a group of comic fans who met online and bonded over their obsession for a seemingly fictional comic – one that predicts disasters and threats to humanity with great accuracy – including ones yet to come.

A remake of the cult hit British series of the same name, the eight-episode conspiracy thriller hailed from “Gone Girl” writer Gillian Flynn who served as showrunner and executive producer. Reviews for the remake were very mixed, a far cry from the raves for the original.

John Cusack, Rainn Wilson, Jessica Rothe, Farrah Mackenzie, Christopher Denham, Dan Byrd, Ashleigh LaThrop, Sasha Lane and Cory Michael Smith starred.
