Amazon Prime Adds Shuffle Function

A while back Netflix tested a shuffle feature, an option allowing users to press a button and get a random selection from the service.

That shuffle option pulled from shows or movies similar to titles you’ve already viewed, or from options you have saved in your queue. It seemed to work well enough that the streamer has made it a permanent feature.

Now, Amazon Prime Video is following suit, adding an option to allow viewers to randomly select a TV episode. A shuffle button has been spotted on the service’s Android app, a button allowing users to “start a series at a random point, watching it without care for the canonical order.”

At present, Amazon appears to be only using the shuffle option for TV shows, not movies.
