Chazelle’s “Babylon” Film Wraps Shoot

Universal Pictures

Filming has officially wrapped on “La La Land” and “First Man” director Damien Chazelle’s period drama “Babylon” at Paramount Pictures.

Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie star in the film which is set in the Golden Age of Hollywood and covers the industry’s switch from the silent era to the talkies.

Crew member Bryan Mendoza posted a photo showing off a clapperboard bearing the names of Chazelle and cinematographer Linus Sandgren, and confirming that production has wrapped.

Mendoza dubs it easily one of the toughest projects he’s worked on. Partially shot on location in Los Angeles, the film also stars Chloe Fineman, Jeff Garlin, Troy Metcalf, Eric Roberts, Lukas Haas, Olivia Wilde, Diego Calva, Jovan Adepo, Katherine Waterston, Max Minghella, Flea, Samara Weaving, P.J. Byrne, Spike Jonze, Jean Smart, and Tobey Maguire in his first live-action acting role in eight years.

Paramount will release “Babylon” in limited theatrical release on December 24th 2022 before going wide on January 6th 2023.

And that’s a wrap on Damien Chazelle’s “Babylon”, easily one of the toughest projects I’ve worked on. Cheers to everyone involved, without a doubt one of the absolute best crews in all of Hollywood. #Babylon #soundspeeds #setlife #iatselocal695 pic.twitter.com/yKwBLaCBRK
