Christensen To Return For “Ahsoka” Series

Lucasfilm

Hayden Christensen will reprise his role of Anakin Skywalker, aka Darth Vader, in the new “Star Wars” live-action series “Ahsoka” at Lucasfilm and the Disney+ service.

Rosario Dawson is starring as fan-favorite character of Ahsoka Tano, reprising the role she played in arguably the best episode of the second season of “The Mandalorian”.

That appearance of course was the live-action debut of the character who rose to fame in the Dave Filoni-produced animated series “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and “Star Wars: Rebels” initially as the padawan (apprentice) of Anakin.

Like “The Mandalorian,” the story takes place five years after the events of “Return of the Jedi” which suggests Anakin will return either in flashbacks or as a Force Ghost.

Christensen played the role in 2002’s “Star Wars: Attack of the Clones” and 2005’s “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith”. He recently reprised it for the live-action “Obi-Wan Kenobi” series which takes place a decade after the events of ‘Sith’.

Story details for the new “Ahsoka” series are being kept under wraps but Filoni is writing the series and executive producing with Jon Favreau. Production is due to begin early 2022.

Christensen and Dawson previously worked together on 2003’s acclaimed journalism drama “Shattered Glass”.
