Christopher Nolan’s Tenet has finally got a new release date – and it isn’t far away.

The ambitious blockbuster, starring John David Washington and Robert Pattinson, has had its release postponed numerous times over the last few months due to coronavirus, and it was even at one point pulled from Warner Brothers’ release schedule altogether.

But now, it seems things are starting to get on track.

It’s been announced that Tenet will begin its international rollout from next month, but it won’t be launching in the US just yet.

As reported in Variety, European and UK audiences can expect to see the mind-bending thriller in cinemas from 26 August.

Tenet will then begin its release Stateside, opening in select theatres from 3 September over Labor Day Weekend.

Ahead of its release, little is known about the actual plot of Tenet – other than it will revolve around a pair of spies (Washington and Pattinson) who are tasked with preventing World War III.

Nolan previously denied that Tenet would be time-travel film, after the mind-bending trailer sent fans’ minds into overdrive.

The film will also star Elizabeth Debiciki, Sir Kenneth Branagh and Nolan regular Sir Michael Caine.

Tenet will certainly have a lot to live up to – Nolan previously has quite the track record of both commercial and critical acclaim, with both Inception and Dunkirk picking up Academy Award nominations for Best Picture.

Tenet comes to cinemas from 26 August.
