DC Movie Black Adam’s Release Date Moves Up To July 2022

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has announced the release date for his upcoming DC comic book movie, Black Adam. The film will come to theaters on July 29, 2022, which is significantly ahead of schedule.

“The hierarchy of power in the DC Universe is about to change,” The Rock said in the teaser, which shows the release date on billboards. The Black Adam movie was originally slated for December 2022, so it’s moving up half a year.

The announcement of the Black Adam release date comes not long after we learned that 007’s Pierce Brosnan had been cast as Kent Nelson in the upcoming movie. He joins a cast that already includes Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, and Aldis Hodge as Hawkman. The Old Guard’s has also been cast in a mystery role.

Filming on Black Adam is expected to begin in April.

“We begin filming in April, we’ll be in Georgia, home away from home,” executive producer Hiram Garcia said. “We’re really excited, man. We have everything ramped up. We’re so fired up for this.”
