Far Cry 6 – Official Reveal Trailer | Ubisoft Forward

Far Cry 6 has been announced, revealing a Caribbean island simmering with revolutionary tension. The Far Cry franchise has always had a flair for fascinating antagonists, and Far Cry 6 will feature actor Giancarlo Esposito (“Better Call Saul,” “The Boys,” “The Mandalorian”) as President Anton Castillo, the violent leader who grips the island of Yara with an iron fist, promising a return to its former glory.

With an arsenal of weapons and allies at your back, you’ll take on Castillo’s regime and fight for the future of Yara. Far Cry 6 is coming to Xbox Series X, PS5, Xbox One, PS4, Stadia, and PC (through the Epic Games Store, Uplay, and UPLAY+) on February 18, 2021.

As Dani Rojas (playable as a female or male character), you will help stoke the fires of revolution through guerrilla warfare across the island of Yara, from verdant jungles to the urban streets of the capital city, Esperanza.

You’ll use a powerful array of weapons and vehicles, and build a network of allies to fight alongside you, including Fangs for Hire like Chorizo, the dangerously distracting wiener dog. As President Castillo prepares his son Diego, played by Anthony Gonzalez (“Coco”), to succeed him, you will do all you can to ensure his plans don’t come to fruition.

Far Cry 6 is now available for pre-order. Players who purchase the game on Xbox One or PS4 will be able to upgrade their version to Xbox Series X or PS5, respectively, at no cost. Pre-ordering will unlock access to the Libertad pack, which includes the Libertad outfit for Chorizo as well as the Discos Locos, a weaponized disc launcher. More information on the editions available for pre-order follows.

  • The Gold Edition will include the base game and the Season Pass.
  • The Ultimate Edition will include the base game, the Season Pass, and the Ultimate pack, which includes Jungle Expedition pack, the Croc Hunter pack, and the Vice pack.
  • The Collector’s Edition will include the base game, Season Pass, the Ultimate pack, a high-end replica of “Tostador,” an in-game flamethrower weapon (7 parts to be assembled, length: 72cm), a “How to Assemble” one-pager artwork illustrated by artist Tobatron, a unique Collector’s Case based on Tobatron’s iconic art style, an exclusive Steelbook, a 64-page artbook, a set of 10 stickers, a Chorizo keyring, a map, and a selected soundtrack.

One of Ubisoft’s big reveals for its Ubisoft Forward event has already leaked, and now the company has produced a brief teaser for Far Cry 6 with a look at its big star. The short clip shows Breaking Bad’s Giancarlo Esposito smoking a cigarette, with a short message that we’ll see more to come at the event. We wouldn’t want to make Gustavo Fring angry, particularly if he has a box cutter close at hand.

The leak revealed that Esposito will appear in Far Cry 6, which is supported by this tweet coming from the official Far Cry account. Far Cry 6 will take place in a tropical paradise called Yara, ruled over by the despotic Anton Castillo and his son Diego. Esposito appears likely to be playing Castillo.

This tweet appears to acknowledge the leak with a cheeky reference, saying “Anton would not be pleased.” And as those who have watched Breaking Bad or its spin-off Better Call Saul can attest, you don’t want to get on Esposito’s bad side. He also played a new Star Wars villain in the Disney+ series The Mandalorian.

The listing also revealed that Far Cry 6 will appear on both current and next-gen consoles, and offer a free upgrade path for digital purchases from PlayStation 4 to PS5, similar to Microsoft’s Smart Delivery on Xbox One to Xbox Series X. According to the leaked store listing, it’s scheduled for release on February 18, 2021. That would likely be a few months after the next-generation consoles arrive.
