Fincher, Fassbender Team For Netflix’s “Killer”

Michael Fassbender is in talks to star and David Fincher is set to direct the hardboiled noir assassin tale “The Killer” for Netflix.

Based on the French graphic novel by Alexis Nolent, the story centers on a cold-blooded assassin who begins to develop a conscience, causing him to emotionally crack – even as his clients continue to demand his skills.

Andrew Kevin Walker, who penned Fincher’s “Se7en,” “Fight Club” and “The Game,” is writing the script. Fincher has long been attached to the project which at one point had Brad Pitt circling.

More recently the project was put into turnaround and was quietly picked up by Netflix where Fincher has been working lately on both the “Mindhunter” series and last year’s “Mank”. Filming aims to begin in September.
