Games of Thrones is set to unleash the dragon fire and human fury on the world this Sunday with the severely awaited season 8 premiere, but production on HBO’s megahit fantasy drama has long wrapped. That means farewell hugs were had, sets were dismantled, and yes, a thing or three may have been taken by the actors. To what exactly did the star lay claim? On the eve of the show’s return, EW asked the Thrones actor to metaphorically empty their pockets and reveal what souvenirs they liberated from the set.
“To be honest, they don’t know this, but I stole a ring on the last day of shooting,” confides Pilou Asbæk about the piece of jewelry that his character, Euron Greyjoy, wore. “I probably have to give it back now because I’ve said it, but nevertheless, I wanted to have something that was mine and that I will cherish.”
In the video above, you will see that Richard Dormer (Beric) had his eye on his patch, Sophie Turner (Sansa) shares, “I got to keep my corset,” and Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm) now has in his possession a chess piece from the map room. (“It looks a little bit Unsullied and it looks a little bit phallic,” he notes.) Liam Cunningham, who plays the world’s most honest smuggler, Ser Davos seemed to be thinking big. “I haven’t left anything; I’ve taken everything!” he quips. “I’ve got trucks there now emptying the place. eBay is going to be on fire in a couple of months!”
Kristofer Hivju (Tormund) wanted to bring home his sword, but he was foiled in that attempt. “[I]t’s very dangerous and I could have killed people with that if I had it in my home, so they took it away,” he notes. Maisie Williams (Arya) answered the question more metaphorically, saying, “I got to keep a lot of memories, cuts and bruises, and—” “—friendships that will last a lifetime,” adds Turner. Maybe not as cool as a sword, but pretty sweet nonetheless.
Game of Thrones resumes April 14 at 9 p.m. ET on HBO.
