Good Morning Britain star Charlotte Hawkins was back to work at the studios on Monday after testing positive for Covid.
The 46-year-old presenter was in self-isolation for over 10 days after being struck down with cold-like symptoms, meaning she had to take some time off from work.
Upon her return to GMB, Charlotte received a warm welcome by her colleague Laura Tobin, who said: ‘I’ve got to say Charlotte, welcome back! How are you doing? I know you’ve been off with Covid.’
Charlotte replied: ‘It’s good to be back, thank you very much. Luckily I only had mild cold-like symptoms, so I can tell you it’s nice to be out the other side safely.’
‘We’re all glad to have you back,’ weather woman Laura assured her co-host.
Charlotte then caught up with Susanna Reid, Alistair Campbell and Dr Hilary Jones, and explained further: ‘I am so glad to be here, I isolated for 10 days – well, more than 10 days actually.
‘I started to feel unwell and kept doing tests because something wasn’t right. Dr Hilary kept saying about this super cold, one of the tests came back positive.’
The presenter then admitted it was tough being separated from her six-year-old daughter, Ella Rose, during her self-isolation period.
‘The hardest thing was… but having to isolate away from my six-year-old, not being able to hug her. I just wanted to make sure I kept her safe and not pass it to her or my husband and luckily they were both OK.’
She added: ‘I was so relieved to be out and hug again… it’s not much fun at all going through it.’
Charlotte revealed her mild symptoms included feeling tired, cold-like symptoms and as though she was ‘fighting something off’.
On Sunday, the news reporter reunited with daughter Ella Rose and shared a sweet photo of them sharing their first hug.
In the caption, she wrote: ‘So I finally get to hug this one after isolating for 10 days with covid..I missed it SO much! Feeling very lucky I only had cold-like symptoms…
‘Sending love to all those isolating right now.’
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
