Mohamed Salah has already secured his status as a Liverpool legend, but how does his goalscoring record compare to two of the club’s other great forwards of the modern era?
After joining from Roma in the summer of 2017, Liverpool’s Egyptian King will complete a fourth full season at Anfield, meaning he’s outlasted Luis Suarez and Fernando Torres, who each spent three and a half seasons at Liverpool; the former came in, alongside Andy Carroll of course, to replace the latter midway through the 2010-11 season.
Salah has now moved ahead of both Suarez and Torres when it comes to his goalscoring record for the Reds, which puts him 14th in the famous club’s all-time list of top scorers. Here’s how they compare when you break it down in detail.

It’s a testament to quite how good Salah has been at Liverpool that he’s outscored Suarez and Torres, and notched at a more prolific rate per minute.
The Egyptian international also boasts the best single-season tally, with 44 goals in his debut 2017-18 campaign, 13 more than Suarez managed in the unforgettable 2013-14 season, including one more in the Premier League, while Torres’ most prolific campaign was also his first: 24 in the Premier League, 33 in all competitions, back in 2007/08.
But neither Torres and Suarez scored a single penalty for Liverpool, with club captain Steven Gerrard on spot-kick duty throughout their time at the club, while Salah has scored 16 – 13% of all his goals for the club. That puts him just behind Torres and Suarez when it comes to non-penalty goals per minute.
Incredibly, Suarez still leads the chart for assists, with 47 in total – 27 more than Torres, and two more than Salah, in spite of playing 54 games fewer.
At his Liverpool peak, the Uruguayan really was a force to be reckoned with, averaging a goal or assist at least once per game (every 87 minutes), just ahead of Salah (94 minutes) and Torres (105 minutes).
