IAFP opens submissions application period for EU symposium

The International Association for Food Protection (IAFP) has opened a call for proposals to its European symposium next year.

The IAFP European Symposium organizing committee is inviting people to submit a proposal for presentation during the meeting.

Since 2005, IAFP’s European symposium has provided a forum for the exchange of ideas with people from across Europe in industry, government, and academia. The symposium is scheduled for May 4 to 6, 2022, in Munich, Germany.

IAFP’s European Symposium on Food Safety took place virtually in April 2021 with almost 300 delegates participating.

A symposium is a 90-minute session emphasizing a central theme relating to food safety and usually consists of three presenters each giving 30-minute talks.

A roundtable is a discussion forum of four to six panelists that lasts 90 minutes with each person giving a five minute introduction, followed by time for a discussion that includes audience participation.

Symposium proposals are due Oct. 5 and organizers will be notified of the status of their proposal by Nov. 24, 2021.

The deadline to submit an abstract proposal online for presentation during the event is Jan. 18 with an acceptance or rejection date of Feb. 23, 2022.

Oral presentations will last for 15 minutes including time for discussions or a question and answer period. Boards will be provided for presenting posters and handouts may be used.
