Jordan North’s parents have spoken about his time on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!, admitting that they ‘couldn’t watch’ his upsetting trials.

Mum Wendy and his dad Graham appeared on ITV’s Lorraine this morning, saying how proud they were to see Jordan grow in confidence on the programme.

Graham said: ‘He’s conquered quite a few fears. He had a lot of phobias when he was a young lad. Scared of snakes, scared of spiders, scared of his own shadow.’

Speaking about the gruesome trials Jordan faced, Graham said: ‘I couldn’t actually watch it. I had to turn away. It was quite upsetting. I think he’ll give a lot of inspiration to young adults everywhere who have phobias.’

Wendy spoke to Lorraine Kelly from the family home in Burnley and Dad spoke live on video feed in Iraq, where he works for the Australian embassy.

Mum Wendy said she was ‘so super proud’ of Jordan, and backed him to win in Friday’s final.

They were also asked about the phantom dribbler in camp, and both were quick to defend Jordan from accusation of peeing on the floor.

‘The jury’s still out,’ Graham said, revealing that he believes Shane Richie is to blame.

‘Shane is to blame, without a doubt!’ Wendy added.

Wendy and Graham also spoke movingly about the time Jordan helped his family while his younger brother Bradley was in hospital for cancer treatment.

‘He was my rock,’ Wendy said. ‘He kept the family home going through the week and took his brother to school. He also put himself through college and kept three jobs down.’

Jordan has became a favourite among fans after entering the camp, finding his ‘happy place’ and raising huge amounts of money for charity without realising.

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! continues tonight at 9pm on ITV.
