Inter Milan centre back Milan Skriniar is said to be very open to a move to Tottenham, according to reports.

Skriniar made the move to Milan in July 2017 from Serie A rivals Sampdoria. He immediately slotted into their back four and he has been a constant starter for them in his three years at the club.

The Slovakia international has made 129 appearances for the club in all competitions so far. He has also been capped 33 times for his national team since 2016.

Skriniar has been one of the leading defenders in Europe during his time at Inter. He has also made an impact in Europe, playing regularly as Inter reached the 2020 Europa League Final.

The 25-year-old played against Tottenham in the 2018/19 Champions League group stage. In their opening tie, Striniar helped his side to a 2-1 victory over Spurs at the San Siro.

Tottenham began showing interest in signing Skriniar in the past few weeks. But Jose Mourinho’s side are yet to meet Inter’s asking price for the defender.

According to football.london, Spurs will make another move for Skriniar before the transfer window closes.

It is said that so far Tottenham have bid £32m plus add-ons for the centre back. Inter are yet to accept a bid, as they are hoping for a fee that is around £45m to secure his services.

If a deal is to go through, the two clubs may have to make a compromise to get it over the line. The player is said to be very keen to move to the Premier League and join Tottenham, though.

Mourinho has been keen to sign a new centre back all summer. They are yet to replace Jan Vertonghen, who left on a free transfer after spending the last eight years at the club.
