Jabari Banks To Lead “Bel-Air” Reboot

Peacock has cast newcomer Jabari Banks in the lead role in its dramatic reboot of “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”.

Banks will play the role of Will which Will Smith played in the original 1990s sitcom. Banks currently lives in West Philadelphia and is an actor, songwriter, singer, rapper, and basketball player.

“Bel-Air” is based on the viral video by Morgan Cooper, which reimagined the beloved sitcom as a drama series.

Set in modern-day America, the serialized story follows Will’s complicated journey from the streets of West Philadelphia to the gated mansions of Bel-Air.

Peacock gave the show a two-season order back in September. Cooper is set to serve as co-writer, director, and executive producer. T.J. Brady and Rasheed Newson will serve as co-showrunners and executive producers.

Westbrook Studios and Universal Television will produce.
