Krieger To Direct “Green Lantern” Series

Lee Toland Krieger (“The Age of Adaline”) has been set to direct the first two episodes of HBO Max’s “Green Lantern” series based on the DC Comics property and in association with Warner Bros. Television.

Krieger has become a much in-demand director of pilots and helmed the very first two episodes of The CW’s “Superman and Lois” and “Riverdale” along with Netflix’s “You,” “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” and “Shadow and Bone”. He also helmed the pilot of FOX’s “Prodigal Son”.

Penned by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Seth Grahame-Smith, the show reinvents the classic DC property through a story spanning decades and galaxies.

The series focuses on three key Lantern characters – Jeremy Irvine as the secretly gay FBI agent Alan Scott in 1941, Finn Wittrock as cocky alpha prick Guy Gardner in 1984, and half-alien Black woman Bree Jarta who is reluctantly paired with Guy.

They’ll be joined by a multitude of other Lanterns. Berlanti, Guggenheim and Grahame-Smith executive produce with Geoff Johns, Sarah Schechter, David Madden and David Katzenberg.
