Lego Announces New Customizable Running Shoes With Adidas

Lego is expanding into a new market: shoes. The toy company has announced a partnership with Adidas to create what it’s calling “Ultraboost DNA x Lego Plates” running shoes. These shoes look pretty slick as they are, but the real hook is that they feature “Lego plates” that can be customized to your liking based on color.

The Lego plates assume the role of the three Adidas stripes on each side of the show, so this is quite a natural-looking crossover. Since the plates can be customized, you can choose what colors you want. The running shoe also carries the Lego branding on the tongue, right below the Adidas logo. Additionally, the toe of the shoe features little white nubs modeled after Lego bricks.

These running shoes retail for $200 USD, and they go on sale starting today, April 18, at 7 AM PT / 10 AM ET through the Adidas website. You can get a closer look at the shoes in the image gallery below.

In other Lego news, developer TT Games just recently announced that Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has been delayed indefinitely. “All of us at TT Games are working hard to Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga the biggest and best Lego game, but we’re going to need more time to do it,” the studio explained.
