There’s no defined set of rules for MBWA, but those who practice it say that the key is randomness, or choosing different times each day, or every other day, to wander about the physical office space, stopping to chat as needed, ask questions, and generally get a real-time view of what’s going on. Keep in mind that, in addition to MBWA, it’s entirely possible to combine any or all of the above suggestions, experiment with various ones, and ultimately make up your own method for fostering an environment that enhances production.
