Marc Skinner: Man Utd set to appoint new manager after Orlando Pride departure

Marc Skinner managed Birmingham City between 2016 and 2019 before joining Orlando PrideManchester United are set to name Marc Skinner as their new manager following his departure from Orlando Pride.

The former Birmingham City boss, 38, stepped down from the American club with “immediate effect” on Friday.

A club statementexternal-link said he is pursuing “a coaching opportunity outside of the National Women’s Soccer League”.

Earlier this week United agreed personal terms with Skinner for him to replace Casey Stoney, who resigned at the end of last season.

Chelsea sign Man Utd striker James on four-year dealThe search for Stoney’s replacement has been extensive and has lasted more than two months.

United will host Reading in their opening 2021-22 Women’s Super League fixture on the weekend of 3-5 September.
