Molly-Mae Hague has revealed she has been given a date to have an operation to help with her endometriosis after being diagnosed earlier this summer.

The former Love Island star, 22, updated her followers during a Q&A session on Instagram, when one asked her: ‘How are you feeling about potential surgery? Has it sunk in a bit more?’

Molly told them: ‘I’ve got a date for my operation now. I’m just looking forward to it to be honest because my endometriosis MASSIVELY impacts my life, I just pray the surgery helps.’

She added: ‘I’m looking forward to speaking more about it on my YouTube to educate people properly on it. I know a lot of girls want me to do this.’

Molly, who was recently named Creative Director of PrettyLittleThing in the UK and Europe, had revealed her concerns were initially dismissed as heavy periods when she went to seek help.

She told her followers: ‘I’ve told you guys for so long now that I’ve suffered with excruciating periods and so many of you guys have been commenting on my videos like, “please check for endometriosis”.

‘My period pains are to the point where I literally can’t stand up, I’m in unbearable pain, I’ve had to take time off work… it’s ridiculous.’

The first doctor Molly saw dismissed her concerns but she finally got her diagnosis after seeing a specialist.

‘Straight away they said, you absolutely do have endometriosis, it’s as clear a day,’ Molly explained.

‘I guess it’s kind of a good thing, because at least I now know what it is. It’s not a good thing I have endometriosis because obviously it can affect your fertility, it can affect loads of things.’

Endometriosis is a long-term condition where tissue similar to the lining of the womb starts to grow in other places, such as the ovaries or the fallopian tubes. There is currently no cure, and many women struggle to be formally diagnosed.

Molly also revealed that she will be having keyhole surgery to cut away patches of affected tissue in the hopes it will relieve her of pain.
