Netflix has released a new–and the final–trailer for Ratched. Due out on September 18, the upcoming psychological thriller promises to be a suspenseful drama that also serves as the origin story for Nurse Ratched, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest’s tyrannical villain in charge of an asylum. You can watch the trailer below.

Starring Sarah Paulson (Mrs. America, The Notorious Bettie Page), the TV series comes from writer-director Ryan Murphy (American Horror Story, Nip/Tuck) and Ian Brennan (Glee, The Politician). Netflix’s official synopsis states that Ratched takes place in 1947, when Mildred Ratched “arrives in Northern California to seek employment at a leading psychiatric hospital where new and unsettling experiments have begun on the human mind.” Mildred then embarks on covert medical missions where she “presents herself as the perfect image of what a dedicated nurse should be, but the wheels are always turning as she begins to infiltrate the mental health care system and those within it… revealing that true monsters are made, not born.”

In addition to Paulson (who is also executive producing), the series also stars Cynthia Nixon as Gwendolyn Briggs, Sharon Stone as Lenore Osgood, and Vincent D’Onofrio as Gov. George Wilburn.

The Nurse Ratched character was first featured in Ken Kesey’s 1962 novel One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, and then later in Miloš Forman’s 1975 adaptation starring Louise Fletcher, Jack Nicholson, Christopher Lloyd, and Danny DeVito.
