Paramount+ Orders “Grease” Prequel Series

The Paramount+ service has officially handed out a series for the prequel spin-off “Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies” from Paramount Television Studios.

Set four years before Sandy and Danny’s relationship throws Rydell High into a tailspin, the story follows four fed-up, outcast girls who dare to have fun on their own terms and spark a moral panic that will change Rydell High forever.

The ten-episode musical comedy series highlights the rise of the original four Pink Ladies – Rizzo, Jan, Marty and Frenchy – long before they met a clean-cut Australian girl.

“Atypical” and “Transparent” alum Annabel Oakes created and executive produces alongside Marty Bowen and Erik Feig. The latter two are also working on the “Grease” prequel movie “Summer Lovin” currently in development.
