Peacock Cancels “Dan Brown’s Lost Symbol”

Peacock

Peacock has cancelled its original series “Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol” after just one season.

The ten-episode series ran from September-November last year and was based on “The Da Vinci Code” author’s third novel in the Robert Langdon series. The first, second and fourth books became the Tom Hanks-led films directed by Ron Howard.

The TV series followed the early adventures of young Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon who must solve a series of deadly puzzles to save his kidnapped mentor and thwart a global conspiracy.

Ashley Zukerman, Valorie Curry, Sumalee Montano, Rick Gonzalez, Eddie Izzard and Beau Knapp starred. As the series finished adapting the book in the first season, thus completing the story, sources tell the trades there was no further need to continue. The show’s very mixed reviews probably didn’t help.
