Pundit advises Arsenal target against January move from Norwich

Pundit Chris Sutton has advised Arsenal target Emiliano Buendia against a January switch to the Emirates Stadium.

The Norwich City playmaker has been linked with a move this month as the Gunners aim for more creativity in their squad.

They’re even willing two offer two squad players plus cash for Buendia, if rumours are to be believed.

But Sutton has warned Buendia to consider the faith Norwich have shown in him when considering a transfer.

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live (via Metro), the former Canaries man said: “I would think the fact that Norwich showed great loyalty and faith in him [would convince him to stay].

“I think he was playing in a Spanish second division team. They have made him. They have turned him into the player and given him the profile which he has now.

“He’s an extremely talented player. All I have to say is that he has to see this season through. He owes it to Norwich City.”

However, Sutton believes that things could change at the end of the season. He went on to say: “If I was in his shoes, I would see it through. I would get Norwich back to the Premier League then I would say, ‘thank you very much, Norwich City, you have been great for me and I have been great for you’.

“And then I’d go on my way and everybody is happy.”

Buendia has been in good form at Carrow Road this campaign. He’s scored seven goals and assisted seven more in 19 Championship appearances so far.

The 24-year-old is viewed as a cheaper alternative to Lyon’s Houssem Aouar, who could cost Arsenal upwards of £70 million.
