Cobweb
Lizzy Caplan (“Masters of Sex”), Antony Starr (“The Boys”), Cleopatra Coleman (“The Last Man on Earth”) and Woody Norman (“Poldark”) are set to star in the Samuel Bodin-directed and Bulgarian-shot horror thriller feature “Cobweb” for Lionsgate. Filming kicks off this month.

The story centers on a small town where a young boy (Norman) hears a mysterious tapping from inside the walls of his home and suspects his parents are hiding a terrible secret. Caplan & Starr play his parents, Coleman plays his substitute teacher. Roy Lee, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and James Weaver produce. [Source: THR]

Bullet Train
“Warrior” series actor Andrew Koji and Joey King are set to join Brad Pitt in the action-thriller “Bullet Train” at Sony Pictures. David Leitch (“Hobbs & Shaw”) will direct and supervise a script by Zak Olkewicz and filming will begin this Fall.

Based on Kotaro Isaka’s novel “Maria Beetle,” the story involves a battle of snipers on the titular high speed train with Koji expected to play one of the four assassins in the film along with Pitt and King. Koji will be seen as the main villain Storm Shadow in the upcoming “G.I. Joe” spin-off film “Snake Eyes”. [Source: The Wrap]

Untitled HBO Max Julia Child Series
David Hyde Pierce will replace British actor Tom Hollander in the role of Julia Child’s devoted husband Paul Child in an HBO Max pilot about the famous female chef who influenced generations. Hollander had to depart due to scheduling conflicts.

Sarah Lancashire (“Happy Valley”) plays Julia in the series which also stars Brittany Bradford, Fran Kranz, Fiona Glascott, Jefferson Mays, Isabella Rossellini and Pierce’s “Frasier” co-star Bebe Neuwirth as Julia’s best friend. Daniel Goldfarb serves as the writer and executive producer while Chris Keyser is showrunner for Lionsgate TV. [Source: Variety]

Untitled Woodward & Newman Documentary
Ethan Hawke has been set to direct an authorized documentary project about the lives and careers of actors Joanne Woodward and Paul Newman for Nook House Productions and Under the Influence Productions.

Hawke promises a rare and exclusive look at the careers of both actors and a complex 50-year relationship that ultimately managed to beat incredible odds. Emily Wachtel, Lisa Long Adler, Adam Gibbs, and Ryan Hawke produce. [Source: Deadline]

Ronan Boyle and the Book of Riddles
Irish director Fergal Reilly (“The Angry Birds Movie”) has signed to direct the high-adventure fantasy “Ronan Boyle and the Bridge of Riddles” for DreamWorks Animation. Based on Tom Lennon’s novel, the story reinvents Irish mythological tropes and is set in a magical world of law-breaking leprechauns and deadly monsters.

Teenager Ronan Boyle lives in the long shadow of his famous parents. When Ronan’s parents are wrongly accused of the theft of a national treasure and sent to jail, Ronan sets out to prove their innocence and face leprechauns, undead goblins and many other legendary creatures of Celtic lore.
