Reeves Releases Deleted Joker “Batman” Scene

Warner Bros. Pictures

Warner Bros. Pictures has released a five-minute deleted scene from Matt Reeves’ “The Batman,” the sequence showcasing the first of the two sequences involving “Dunkirk” and “Eternals” star Barry Keoghan as The Joker.

The second one made the film itself but obscured the character who is mostly heard and barely seen. This one however offers a far better look at the character and comes earlier in the film at Arkham Asylum as he’s visited by Robert Pattinson’s Batman doing essentially this film’s version of the consultation scene with Hannibal Lecter (Brian Cox) in “Manhunter”.

Reeves himself has said this is not yet The Joker as we know from the comics, merely an early version with Batman talking to the unnamed inmate whom he captured a year prior. Reeves has also previously hinted he won’t be the main villain of the second film.
