Refunds Didn’t Impact “Cyberpunk 2077” Sales

Nielsen’s digital gaming industry research company SuperData has confirmed that CD Projekt Red’s “Cyberpunk 2077” had the biggest digital launch of all time.

More interestingly though, the report for December 2020 indicates that the extended refunds being handed out due to the game’s performance problems didn’t substantially affect aggregate sales with 10.2 million digital units sold over the course of the month.

The report also indicates an extremely high share of digital sales (80%) were on PC, likely due to the delisting on PlayStation and the state of the console versions.

The 1.1 patch for the game has gone live on PC and consoles, bringing stability improvements, bug fixes and more. However PC Gamer also reports that the new patch has introduced a bug which can potentially cause you to be unable to progress in the game.
