“Resident Evil” New Film vs. Game Featurette

Sony Pictures

Sony Pictures has released the first featurette for the horror reboot “Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City” based on the popular video game series.

The film’s writer-director Johannes Roberts promises fans an adaptation that remains faithful to its source material, so much so the clip offers side-by-side comparisons between the scenes from the film and the game to show how the character and set designs match.

Unrelated to the Milla Jovovich-led films, this serves as the official origin story to Capcom’s long-running survival horror video game franchise. The project stars Kaya Scodelario as Claire Redfield, Hannah John-Kamen as Jill Valentine, Robbie Amell as Chris Redfield, Tom Hopper as Albert Wesker, Avan Jogia as Leon S. Kennedy, Neal McDonough as William Birkin, and Lily Gao as Ada Wong.

“Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City” will debut exclusively in cinemas on November 24th.
