“Spider-Man” Atop Quiet January Box-Office

Sony Pictures

In a weekend with no major new releases, “Spider-Man: No Way Home” easily stayed on top in its seventh weekend of release with an additional $10.4 million joining its domestic total of around $734 million.

That puts it as the fourth-highest grossing domestic release of all time behind “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” ($936 million) and “Avengers: Endgame” ($858 million) and “Avatar” ($760 million) with Spidey likely to surpass the latter.

“Scream” will take second place with $6.65 million in its second run and a total domestic gross of $61 million – well above its budget of $25 million.

“Sing 2,” “Redeeming Love” and “The King’s Man” stayed in third through fifth place. Next week the wide releases of both “Moonfall” and “Jackass Forever” are expected to shift things.
