Stephen King just loves dead things coming back to life.
The Pet Sematary author hit Twitter over the weekend to recommend Netflix’s new zombie series Black Summer.
“Just when you think there’s no more scare left in zombies, THIS comes along,” King wrote. “Existential hell in the suburbs, stripped to the bone.
“BLACK SUMMER: No long, fraught discussions,” he added in a tweet Monday. “No endless flashbacks, because there’s no back story. No grouchy teens. Dialogue is spare. Much shot with a single handheld camera, very fluid.”
The show stars Jaime King as a woman named Rose who is separated from her daughter in the chaos that ensues after the dead start to walk.
“She is a Midwestern woman who is in love with her husband and has been with him for a long time, and loves her daughter, and finds herself in these extraordinary circumstances,” King recently told EW. “Her child is ripped from her, torn away from her, and [she] will stop at nothing to go get her.”

Black Summer also Justin Chu Cary, Sal Velez Jr., and Christine Lee. Check out the trailer above.
