Jose Mourinho may not exactly be renowned for giving young players many senior opportunities, but a number of exciting Tottenham prospects are catching the eye out on loan.
It hasn’t been plain sailing for all of Tottenham’s loanees, with a few familiar names having failed to kick on so far in 2020-21, but fans will no doubt be taking encouragement from the performances of the likes of Oliver Skipp and Ryan Sessegnon.
We’ve taken a look at the 10 Spurs players currently out on loan and how they’ve fared to date.
Troy Parrott
Regarded as the next big thing at Tottenham, Parrott joined Championship side Millwall in search of regular first-team football.
The striker missed the start of the season due to injury problems and is yet to score in 10 appearances, but the 18-year-old has still impressed his team-mates.
“Troy was someone that within the first 15 minutes of his first training session I knew the quality that he had, the intelligence he has,” Jed Wallace said in November. “I’m looking forward to playing with him more.”
Timothy Eyoma
Despite failing to make an appearance during his brief loan spell at Lincoln City last season, Eyoma returned to the Imps ahead of 2020-21.
The right-back has now become one of the first names on the team sheet, helping the side keep 10 clean sheets in his first 19 league appearances for the League One table-toppers.
Oliver Skipp
Skipp made an instant impression after joining Norwich City on loan, winning the Man of the Match award on his debut and then their Player of the Month award for September.
The midfielder has played every single minute of their 23 league games so far this season, helping the Canaries go top of the table as they look to get back into the Premier League.
“We take it for granted that Oliver Skipp plays nearly every game with so little mistakes,” Norwich boss Daniel Farke told their official website in December.
“He had to adapt in the last two games because he’s now playing with Alex Tettey who plays a deeper role, he has to drive the game forward now and was composed to the task.
“It is no coincidence that Jose Mourinho says he has potential to be Tottenham’s skipper one day.”

Jack Roles
Despite impressing in his spell at Cambridge United last season, Roles has made just three cameo appearances for Buton Albion in 2020-21.
Having not made a League One matchday squad since October, the Cyprus international has now returned to Tottenham.
Shilow Tracey
Tracey joined Spurs from Ebbsfleet United in 2016 but is yet to make a senior appearance for the club.
He had a brief spell with League Two side Macclesfield Town in 2019-20 and is currently plying his trade for Shrewsbury Town In League One.
The winger has started just two league games so far this season but has four goals in three EFL Trophy appearances, including a hat-trick against Crewe.
Juan Foyth
Foyth fell down the pecking order under Jose Mourinho and completed a loan move to Villarreal, linking up with former Arsenal manager Unai Emery.
Despite marking his debut with a goal and assist against Sivasspor in the Europa League, the Argentina international has made just five La Liga appearances this season.
The defender has played in midfield in recent weeks but will now face competition from new signing and former Spurs man Etienne Capoue.
Ryan Sessegnon
After enduring a difficult debut season at Tottenham, Sessegnon has rediscovered his best form with Bundesliga side Hoffenheim.
Registering two goals and two assists in his first 16 appearances, the 20-year-old also won Hoffenheim’s Player of the Month award in November and is such displays will catch the eye of Jose Mourinho.
“That’s the aim,” Sessegnon told Sky Sports News in December. “That is why I am here, to get more experience, more games in a top league and then come back and be ready to play games next year with Spurs.”

Kazaiah Sterling
After previous spells at Sunderland, Doncaster Rovers and Leyton Orient, Sterling joined Southend United on a three-month loan deal.
A groin injury limited the striker’s game time for the League Two side, and he returned to his parent club at the end of December.
Half of his 12 appearances were off the bench and his solitary goal was a consolation in a 6-1 thrashing at Colchester United in the EFL Trophy.
Joshua Oluwayemi
The only goalkeeper on this list, Oluwayemi made just one appearance during his loan spell at National League side Maidenhead United and returned to Tottenham at the start of January.
Cameron Carter-Vickers
Despite being just 23 years old, Carter-Vickers has already spent time at Sheffield United, Ipswich Town, Swansea City, Stoke City and Luton Town.
The USA international joined Bournemouth on deadline day but has been plagued by injury problems and is yet to make his debut for the Championship side.
